We propose a methodology where the modelling of Agent-Oriented Information Systems starts from the modelling of strategic relationships between the actors involved, and continues by means-ends analysis connecting business goals to the tasks used for achieving them. Following that, strategic relationships are represented by using the notion of metacommitment, and lifecycles of commitments are modelled as interaction frames. In the further refinement, business tasks are augmented by their triggering-, pre- and postconditions, and are then transformed to reaction rules of knowledge-perception-memory-commitment (KPMC) agents. The methodology is evaluated by using the case study of a car rental company.
