"Finding the right person" to fulfill some specific task in an organization is often difficult. This paper proposes a framework for an ontology-based multiagent system for expertise location in organizations. The framework supports organizations or individuals, by assisting them in finding relevant experts from a large number of information sources. The framework uses a hybrid architecture, which depends on an enterprise ontology, to ensure the effectiveness of the expert seeking process. The multiagent system constructs a social network from various information sources and identifies a special kind of agent, a hub, which has high outward connectivity in the social network. The multiagent system incrementally constructs an expertise repository in the expertise location process. We also address some of the security and privacy issues arising from expertise location.
